[It was supposed to be an average morning. Well, except for the sudden waking up no thanks to his Mareep brushing up against him and frazzling him with static. And the Pidgey he caught thwapping him in the face with her wings to help with the waking up effort.
But then something happened that made him nearly fall out of his spot as he stretched his hand out to block out the sudden sunlight in his face. He wasn't even in bed at Talim's home anymore. Nor was he, well, anywhere near Mahogany. How in the--?
And then there was the voice in his head. One very, very familiar voice. He had to see if what he was feeling was true, and so he stretches his hand out, palm facing up, closing it tightly--
And there it was, the shards of a card giving way to Izanagi-no-Okami.
What. The hell.]

wait
why are you]
...D-did you summon that?!
no subject
TURNING TOWARDS HIM, STARING AWKWARDLY AT THAT FIRE IN YOUR HANDS, BRAH]
I did...why do you ask?
no subject
looks Souji up and down
squints at Izanagi
squints at Souji]
How...? [I thought you were a cool dude if you turn out to be Ashura-kai I swear to all gods]
no subject
[oh okay have a squint back, Walter, and your demons too, because PERSONAS 8|]
Wait, you can summon them too?
no subject
Er...
[...but then, someone else pipes up. A female voice with an electronic tinge.] Master, I think you're misreading the situation. There's something there, but I'm not sensing any demons besides your own.
[...what the hell?] Then...what is that, if not a demon?
[His Pokemon and the few demons among them look confused, and shuffle backwards a bit. Gucumatz's frozen mask of an expression is hard to read, but...it certainly seems as though it's staring hungrily at Souji, with that draconic grin...]
no subject
Souji stares at the Gucumatz for a moment, and motions to it for Walter as he looks to him again. Oy, keep him in check, why don't ya. :|]
This is a Persona, not a demon.
no subject
It takes Walter a moment to catch the meaning of that gesture, but once he does, a few quick taps to his Gauntlet's screen return the demons to stock. (Gucumatz whines out a rumbling "nooo I'm hungry" as he vanishes.) A few of his Pokemon follow suit, leaving behind only a Vulpix crouched near Walter's leg with his ears pricked nervously, and a Houndoom whose serious stance is slowly morphing into a wiggling, air-sniffing aura of curiosity.]
That's a relief... [Something blinks on his Gauntlet.] Persona, huh? I'll make a note of that. [Beep.]
[He doesn't put his sword away, but seems to have relaxed and isn't holding it up anymore. He is still studying Izanagi, though. Huh.] I've never thought that you were from the same world as I, but for a moment there...
no subject
Souji blinks for more than a few seconds at the gauntlet. There it was again, that voice he'd heard just a moment ago...his attention drifts back to Walter's statement, though; he'll have to ask about that later.]
Did you think I was bad company? [Yup, talk about having your sentence finished for you.]

[Next thing they know, something's going to port them off, or they'll start hearing things.
...Wait though.]
...Er, where is here, anyway?
no subject
An hour and twelve minutes, actually.
...Right. And then there's how everything from our own worlds seems to have returned.
no subject
...Oh look, a cliff near them. He'll just pull himself up so he can sit down and rest his legs--...wait, wasn't this supposed to not work out so well? How on--
...Nevermind, he'll just. Peek down at Walter again, more specifically, his gauntlet.]
That's no ordinary gauntlet, is it?
no subject
Walter opens his mouth to answer, but Burroughs beats him to the punch.] That's right. This Gauntlet is designed for use in combat with demons; it's loaded with the Demon Summoning Application for negotiation with and storage of demonic allies, as well as a secure audiovisual communication feature, a compendium of demon-related resources, and a direct uplink to the Cathedral of Shadows fusion server - and, of course, the navigational intelligence that's giving you the grand tour, Burroughs.
...Sorry to cut you off, Master.
[Walter looks vaguely bewildered, plunking himself down against that ledge with his legs crossed.] It's not as though I could explain it half as well.
no subject
Going to let that sink in for a bit, because that was some seriously advanced talk he was listening to just now, on top of, well, demons, mythological creatures of all sorts. And unlike his Personas, they were real.
Scary thought, that... he returns his look to Walter.]
She seems pretty helpful, though. [Was it a she? The voice sounded distinctly female...though what is giving gender to machinery.]
no subject
I imagine we'd be long dead without her. Or not bothering with demons at all. Save the Gauntlets, there's nothing like this - computers - in Mikado. And you can bring down a demon with naught but a sword, but...only for so long.
no subject
Sounds like this isn't the first time you've dealt with them...
no subject
Do DH version?
Are you ok?
Yes sirree 8D
Souji spun around to face her, Mareep baa-ing and Pidgey chirping in greeting. ...Whoa, hello there, completely different Yukiko. Everything else was different, but there was no forgetting her face.]
...Yukiko-san? [...Pause. Right, her question.]
...Ah, I'm alright. I'm just...a bit shocked, is all.
no subject
I didn't think you would be on a journey too...
no subject
I'm--ow!--just being polite, that's all. I don't want anyone to get the wrong impression. [...Oops, there's that subtle hint.]
no subject
D-Did that sheep just shock you?
no subject
[It just brushed up against him again. Whoops.]
no subject
Where did you find it anyway? I didn't think the Havens had anything like that around.
no subject
...I wound up--ow!--catching it when I first got here? [And then the long pause.]
Wait, what Havens?
no subject
You...forgot about them? Did the dragons do something to you? Did going into that dying haven effect you in some other way?
no subject
...How could I forget what I don't exactly know about?
no subject
While keeping a neutral face of course. Or trying.]
We were brought there together, in Drathia. You found me not even five minutes after the dragon dropped me off...we've been inseparable since then.
no subject
Though Kazuya will be cautious of you, just in case.
... well, he is anyway, consider he's in a completely unknown place.]
How did you summon that just now?
no subject
[He just crushed a card in his hand okay okay. PERFECTLY LEGIT EXPLANATION.
...But no, seriously, he has no idea how the hell he's hearing Izanagi now of all times and summoning him at will.]
no subject
You're not a COMP owner, then?
no subject
[Blink blink. How about that, he doesn't know a thing about COMPs.
But no, it wasn't.]
no subject
DSCOMP, which basically looks... like a DS.]A Communication Player.
[He decides to show why he asked that by summoning a Jack Frost. Hee ho and all that.] You can use it to summon demons, like you just did.
no subject
This isn't a demon, though...
no subject
[It certainly doesn't look like an angel.]
no subject
[What is properly understanding strange psychological concepts given form?]
no subject
I see. Sorry for assuming that you're a demon tamer.
no subject
[He'd had someone else mistake his giant headgod for a demon only a while ago, and, well, while the situation got resolved...yeah. Awkward.]
So...you're like a friend of mine, then? [He had to do a double take at the COMP. How was a little handheld doing everything that it could?]
no subject
I suppose? I see no reason to be a foe.
[Even if this is a strange situation and he has no clue what's going on but he'll take what he can.]
I'm Kazuya Minegishi.
no subject
She saunters up to him, leering at him from under her umbrella. ]
Ah, is that what you call a Pokemon around here aru?
no subject
Was this person he hasn't seen before going to challenge him? This is bad...]
...Not the big one. It's...the small ones you want.
[Mareep and Pidgey get in line, though there's no end of tension behind that lineface of his. It just screams 'crap crap crap--']
