3rd Rainy Day [Action/Voice]

[Well, now that the whole Kin'coran debacle is over, Souji finally has time to sit himself down and contemplate what's happened...and there's quite a bit to go over.

Rather, one specific detail that really made him cross...

...There were starving children out there, and they were liable to have been victimized by some of the experiments. Children, being used as part of the Malnosso's tests. Young boys and girls that were most likely scarred from the abuse they'd been put through at the hands of mad scientists. Frustration wasn't normally an emotion he would let himself feel, but this was one occasion where he'd let himself burn with it.

It hit too close to home, thanks to a certain bastard who callously had someone else drag his cousin into the TV. He didn't want to remember that fateful November evening, but this whole mess drove it into his face in the worst way possible.

He wished they would just mercifully send those poor souls home, instead of bringing them back to that damned enclosure.

It took him little time to decide what to do today; he was going to head out and get himself some fresh air. Maybe a walk will do him some good...and if he comes across anyone of interest, spending time getting to know them.

Not long after he returns, though, he sends out a message on the journal network.]

...Do you have any relatives back home?

[It's something he's definitely had to get used to.]

Well... my son's really old and he has a really nice beard. He's really wise and carries on my people's ways. My oldest granddaughter is quiet and likes to read a lot. She's really smart. And my younger granddaughter Ikki's also smart, but she's real energetic too, and she seems to love everything. [A beat.] Only the older granddaughter's still here.

Yeah! I teach her airbending, and she's gotten me into books!

[Above, actually!]

I just didn't read them much. I already had a lot of adventure in my life, so I didn't really need books.

Oh, all kinds! I mostly liked to explore the world on my sky bison and try to ride all different kinds of animals, like hog-monkeys and otter-penguins. Then I went on adventures with my friends when I met them, but most of those adventures were more dangerous because of the war with the Fire Nation.

Yeah! Aren't they some of the best animals?

Not even half of them? Most of the other worlds usually have half of my animals! But sky bison are really special...

Oh, okay... well a sky bison is really big and furry and it has horns and an arrow like the one I have! It has a big flappy tail that it uses to airbending too and fly. They were the original Airbenders and they've been the companions of my people, the Air nomads, ever since they taught them to airbend, and my pet bison is named Appa! I met him when I was really little.

He was like a baby! He was a real small, but he could still knock me over and lick me! I attracted him by offering him an apple as part of a ceremony, and he took it and licked me. That made us friends for life.
savedtheworld: (okay)

I guess you could say that it's the start of our bond. And that it teaches him it's okay to trust me.
